WHY:
In April, a fight at King High broke out following a transgender student repeatedly using the female locker room. Amid this and other recent acts of violence at Riverside USD Schools, Assemblyman Essayli invited Riverside School Board Members to a public town hall to discuss policy solutions to ensure the safety of our children on campus. The Riverside USD ignored the townhall invitation and instead offered a private meeting later in the summer. Assemblyman Essayli insisted parents have a right to hear from their elected officials now, in a public setting to discuss the urgent topic of school safety and announced this town hall, emphasizing any Riverside USD Board Members and administrators are welcome and encouraged to attend.
